Happy Birthday Wookie
It's weird having a child with a birthday only two days from mine! I remember towards the end of my pregnancy when it became clear I was not going to make it to term I was so worried that he'd be born ON my birthday and forever be stuck sharing his special day. But he held off and was born two days after his mama.
We celebrated his birthday on the 3rd this year since, in keeping with my run at "mom of the year", I had theatre tickets on his actual birthday and was out. He decorated his own cake, thank heavens I baked a second "grown up" cake because I caught him licking the frosting off his cake while decorating! He's one crazy child.
Jonah at 3 is so much different than his siblings were. He talks, but few people outside of the immediate family understand him. He's not potty trained (and throws tantrums at the sight of the potty, throws tantrums if I try to leave his diaper off). He spends 8 hours a day at daycare yet never says a word to anyone there. When I picked him up last week I coaxed him into saying goodbye to one of his teachers and she was shocked, half-yelling "il parle! il parle!". She'd never heard him speak before that. He's been there 5 weeks. He gets incredibly upset at changes in routine, he insists on things being done a certain way every time. I worry about him. Yet he's also sweet and cuddly, free with affection, happy most of the time. He's got amazing coordination, both fine and gross. He knows all of his colours and most of his letters, can count to 5 (10 with help), loves being read to. Jonah at 3 is an enigma, and I love him to pieces.
